Aaron Chapman
Aaron Chapman, an investment property finance leader whose team underwrites a huge percentage of all investor real estate mortgages in the United States, and author of the new book Redneckonomics: Unconventional Success by Takin’ the Beatin’ Path joins Enterprise Radio.

This episode of Enterprise Radio is in association with the Author Channel.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Aaron Chapman discuss the following:

  1. Your path into finance is one of the most unlikely origin stories in the industry — cattle ranching, oil fields, mining, long-haul trucking. Take us back to the beginning. How did a guy with that background end up becoming one of the most respected names in investment property lending?
  2. There’s a moment in the book where someone tells you that if you want to make it in this business, you need to wear the “corporate uniform.” You refused. Walk us through that decision — what was going through your head, and what happened to your business after that?
  3. You structured the entire book around the idea of taking beatings. Without sugarcoating it, what’s the single hardest beating you’ve taken in your career or your life, and what did it teach you that you couldn’t have learned any other way?
  4. You write that you struggle with the phrase “you deserve it” — that nothing is deserved, everything is earned. With that philosophy in mind, what are you most proud of? Not what looks most impressive on paper, but what cost you the most to build?
  5. You push back hard on how the world defines success — the social media version, the money version, the “must be nice” version. So how does Aaron Chapman define it? What does success actually feel like to you?
  6. The last chapter is called “When I Go to the Grave, I Am Comin’ in Hot.” When that day comes, what do you want to be able to say you accomplished — not just in business, but as a father, a husband, and a man of faith?

Aaron Chapman is a mortgage finance leader, entrepreneur, and sought-after speaker who went from working oil fields and driving long-haul trucks to becoming one of the most respected figures in investment property lending in the United States. A huge percentage of all investor real estate mortgages in the country are underwritten by him and his team. He has shared the stage with industry greats across the country, helping audiences rethink what it takes to build a business and a life through grit, authenticity, and relentless action. His new book is Redneckonomics: Unconventional Success by Takin’ the Beatin’ Path.

When I’m cruising out of Port Everglades, I always arrive at the port destination at least one day before departure. When searching for the best hotel, I look for a hotel that makes embarkation day as smooth as possible. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina definitely checked all the boxes for a perfect pre-cruise stay.

I have cruised out of Port Everglades a total of eight times now and the last time I sailed was my first time staying at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. This hotel was by far my favourite pre cruise stay! I immediately felt like I was on a mini vacation before boarding the cruise ship.

In this post, I share why I fell in love with my pre cruise stay at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina.

A Location That Takes The Stress Out Of Cruise Day

One of the biggest reasons I chose this hotel was its incredibly convenient location. Being just minutes from Port Everglades meant I didn’t have to worry about long morning drives, heavy traffic, or rushing to make my embarkation time. On cruise morning, the short ride to the terminal made everything feel easy and stress-free. Exactly how I like to start a cruise vacation.

Just One Tip: Contact the hotel prior to arrival to arrange a transfer from the airport to the hotel

The Perfect Way To Get Into Vacation Mode

What I really loved about staying here was the waterfront setting along the Intracoastal Waterway. From the moment I arrived, it felt like my vacation had already begun. Watching boats pass by and enjoying the palm lined views instantly put me into relaxation mode.

If you’re lucky enough to get a room with a marina view, it adds an extra bit of excitement. Especially when you’re counting down the hours until your cruise begins. The pool view rooms are also beautiful. They’re perfect if you have kids that you need to watch over.

Cruise-Friendly and Convenient

This hotel clearly caters to cruisers, which made my stay even more enjoyable. It felt like everything was designed with cruise travellers in mind. from the ease of arranging transportation to the port to the overall relaxed atmosphere filled with fellow cruisers starting their vacations.

Knowing I was staying somewhere so close to the port gave me peace of mind and let me truly relax the night before sailing.

A Fun And Relaxing Night Before Embarkation

Instead of feeling like just a quick overnight stop, my stay felt like part of the vacation itself. I spent time enjoying the outdoor pool area and soaking in the tropical atmosphere, which was the perfect way to unwind after my flight from Canada.

There were also plenty of nearby dining options, so it was easy to have a relaxed dinner and settle in for the night before the excitement of cruise day. If you prefer, there are also two restaurants right on site so you don’t have to leave paradise.
